Ashlands Flametal Weapons & Gemstone Infusion Guide
Master the Ashlands weapon forge: compare Flametal Greatsword (Slayer) vs Dual Axes vs Ripper bow, and calculate exact gem infusion proc damages.
Flametal weapon arsenal and base physical damage scaling
Smelted Flametal ingots forge the most powerful melee and ranged weapon tier in Valheim. The Ashlands forge includes the Flametal Greatsword (Slayer), Berserkir Dual Axes, Eldner Heavy Mace, and the Ripper Heavy Crossbow.
Unlike previous metal tiers, base Flametal weapons feature secondary stagger multipliers and elevated knockback values engineered to break the poise of armored Charred Warriors and Morgen behemoths.
- Slayer (2H Greatsword): 140 Slash + 60 Blunt base damage; wide horizontal sweeping arc.
- Berserkir (Dual Axes): 85 Slash base per hand; devastating 6-hit rapid combo.
- Ripper (Heavy Crossbow): 165 Pierce damage; ignores 50% of target projectile resistance.
- Artisan Anvil & Spring upgrades required for max level 3 weapon upgrades.
Gemstone infusion mechanics: Blood, Lightning, and Nature
After forging a standard Flametal weapon, visit the Galdr Table to socket refined Ashlands gemstones. Each weapon accepts exactly one permanent gemstone infusion:
Blood Gems (Red): Enhance berserker gameplay. When player health drops below 50%, damage scales upward by +25% (up to +50% under 25% HP) and critical strikes heal 10% of damage dealt.
Lightning Gems (Blue): Each strike has a 25% chance to discharge chain lightning, dealing 40 elemental lightning damage and jumping between 4 adjacent targets.
Nature Gems (Green): Melee hits apply root entanglements for 3.5 seconds and leave toxic mist clouds that inflict 75 poison damage over 10 seconds.
Optimal weapon selection across Ashlands combat scenarios
For Charred Fortress breaches and horde battles, the Lightning Slayer or Lightning Berserkir Axes deliver supreme multi-target clearing efficiency, continuously stunning surrounding Charred Warlocks.
For Lord Reto and Fader boss encounters, the Blood Ripper Crossbow combined with Charred Bone bolts deals massive burst DPS from safe perimeter distances.
Durability, repair requirements, and maintenance costs
Flametal weapons require a Level 4 Black Forge for repairs in the field. Establishing forward outpost stations with iron and mechanical springs ensures instant weapon restoration during deep Ashlands excursions.
Infused gemstones do not degrade upon weapon repair, allowing perpetual utilization of elemental procs without recurrent eitr infusion costs.
